Founding partners, Bob Volkman and David Yang saw large agencies underserving large clients with junior talent who were largely learning on the job. And they saw small agencies underserving small clients with past-their-prime talent who had largely stopped caring about the job.
Refusing to be trapped, Bob and David watched the classic movie The Great Escape and decided to tunnel out. The three tunnels in the movie, code-named “Tom, “Dick” and “Harry” became Chicago’s newest agency moniker with a singular mission - to keep Craft Communications alive.

At TDH, crafting isn’t limited to the creative team. We believe that the best account people exercise craft in forging rock-solid client relationships built on incredible dedication and trust, leading internal teams and juggling a myriad of details. To this end, we’re looking for a “craft-minded” Assistant Account Executive.
This position will report to a Senior Account Executive on one of our largest clients. This position has tremendous growth potential with the opportunity to use current organizational and project management skills while learning and developing in the strategic and creative areas.
The AAE will likely support other clients within the agency, and will help out with office management activities.

- A minimum of 1.5 to 2 years of ad agency account management experience.
- A stickler for details, a master of timelines, a steward of budgets. While you don’t need a law degree, you appreciate the nuance that a stringent legal department brings to a marketing piece.
- Keen ability to “see around corners” and anticipate.
- A sense of humor and a can-do attitude go a long way.
- Experience with direct mail and email marketing is required; experience with social is preferred.
