The OI is a research center at the University of Chicago for ancient near eastern studies. It’s also a world-renowned museum where you’ll find some of the oldest artifacts of civilized society ever discovered. The collection captures the beginning of how we live as humans together. Interesting how this part of the world used to be called the Orient (the “Fertile Crescent”). Today we know the region as the Middle East, but the lessons unearthed by this hidden gem of Chicago’s famed museum roster still inspire the thrill of discovery.
